Germany Gets Drawn in Group E for 2026 World Cup Campaign

(MENAFN) Group E of the 2026 FIFA World Cup features Germany, Curacao, Ivory Coast and Ecuador, with Germany entering the tournament as the strongest contender to progress from the group.

The Germans, four-time world champions, will be making their 21st World Cup appearance as they pursue a fifth title. Their previous triumphs came in 1954, 1974, 1990 and 2014.

Germany will begin its campaign against Curacao in Houston on June 14. It will then face Ivory Coast in Toronto on June 20 before wrapping up the group stage against Ecuador in New York/New Jersey on June 25.

Curacao is set to make history with its first appearance at a FIFA World Cup finals tournament. After opening against Germany, the Caribbean nation will take on Ecuador on June 21 and then face Ivory Coast on June 25.

Ivory Coast will be participating in the World Cup for the fourth time. The African team has yet to progress beyond the group phase and will be aiming to secure a place in the knockout rounds for the first time in its history. Its tournament begins with a match against Ecuador in Philadelphia on June 15.

With a blend of World Cup experience and first-time participation, Group E is expected to offer a mix of established pedigree and emerging ambition as teams battle for a place in the next round.
